Lizzyland Family Day Care is more than childcare — it’s a place where children are valued, supported, and inspired to develop a lifelong love of learning.

About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth, and I’m the proud teacher behind Lizzyland Family Day Care.

Lizzyland FDC is an extension of your own family — a safe, nurturing, and welcoming space where children feel at home, build friendships, and develop confidence as they learn and grow. So you can relax knowing your child is cared for, while you focus on your family’s happiness, success, and wellbeing.

My extensive experience in working with children includes over two decades of teaching experience across early years, primary, and high school. This background has given me a deep understanding of how children learn, as well as the importance of working in partnership with families.

Underpinning everything we do at Lizzyland is my genuine interest in the process of learning and development at all ages. My enthusiasm for learning has led me to work in a wide variety of educational settings, from city to rural and remote schools across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Over the years, I have been awarded senior teacher status and later worked as a school principal, guiding the practice of many teachers until I retired from the school system.

At Lizzyland, I am committed to creating positive experiences for children that focus on communication, positive reinforcement, problem-solving, and empathy. I provide constructive learning and developmental opportunities guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, ensuring that each child’s individual needs and family expectations are supported.

Philosophy

Philosophy

Koolanga is an inclusive, boutique service that engages families, children, and educators regardless of culture. Building and maintaining respectful relationships while providing an alternative childcare option is paramount to us.

Our approach is guided by the EYLF principles of Belonging, Being, and Becoming. We recognise the importance of secure relationships, the present moment in children’s lives, and their ongoing growth as active societal participation.

We recognise that play-based learning engages each child’s interests and natural sense of discovery through hands-on exploration of the world around them. They are the drivers of their learning journey.

Koolanga acknowledges our diverse community and embraces the richness that diversity brings to our learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging for all.

Testimonials

A Wonderful Educator and Highly Recommended. Elizabeth has a strong understanding of child learning and development, and a real gift for helping children, as her career working with kids across the state shows. She encourages families to be involved, listens to their ideas, and is always open to feedback. She’s supportive, patient, and always has plenty for children to do, learn, and explore. Best of all, the kids have fun around her.
Christina

Elizabeth has been an incredible caregiver and educator for my daughter. With her degree in teaching and certification in early childhood learning, she creates a nurturing and enriching environment every day.

She has gone above and beyond in supporting my daughter’s learning journey, including AUSLAN, music, gardening, science, and even learning about sustainability through gardening. Elizabeth blends play with meaningful education, encouraging curiosity, kindness, and creativity.

I have complete trust in her care, and I’m so grateful for the positive influence she’s had on my daughter’s growth and confidence. I would highly recommend Elizabeth to any family looking for a dedicated, skilled, and truly caring early childhood educator.

Lisa

I have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Elizabeth since 2019. As an early childhood educator I have found her to be exceptionally skilled in communicating with families, babies and toddlers. She establishes clear and simple boundaries that help children feel safe, respected, and confident in their environment. The activities she provides are thoughtfully planned, and age-appropriate. Elizabeth ensures they are both enjoyable and engaging, encouraging children to explore freely and participate at their own pace.
I am confident that Elizabeth’s professionalism, warmth, and expertise make her an asset in any early childhood setting.

Rita
Elizabeth has gone above and beyond in providing a nurturing and safe environment where my son can truly thrive. What has stood out the most to me is the thoughtful range of sensory activities. Every visit, my baby is engaged in developmentally appropriate play that encourages exploration, curiosity, and growth — from textured sensory toys to music, lights, and interactive toys, and garden activities tailored to his age and stage.
Sarah

I have had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth in multi-age classroom settings, where her ability to accommodate a wide range of developmental needs truly shines. She provides thoughtful, individualized attention to each child, ensuring that every learner feels seen and supported.

Elizabeth consistently prepares engaging, well-planned activities that spark curiosity and joy. Her approach makes learning both fun and meaningful—children are eager to participate and take pride in their tasks. Every experience for young children is guided with purpose and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), creating a nurturing environment where children thrive.
