Hi my name is Miss Libby. In 2007 with our young family we moved to the coastal history filled ‘cray fishing’ town of Two Rocks with my husband Danny and our two daughters as we dreamt of the ‘Sea Tree’ change. I had been working in the Long Day Care/OSH and Vacation Care Industry as a Diploma Qualified Educator.
I wanted to open a Family Home Day Care Child Care Service that offered professional quality early education and care in a comfortable ‘At Home’ setting. A space and a place offering flexible options within an individualised group, with realistic options and choices for families with diverse needs and lifestyles.
December 2007 Neptune’s Nippers FDC was open!
During these last 15 years, Neptune’s Nippers has offered to the community of Two Rocks and surrounds a viable, safe, fun, caring home-orientated service, offering the scope to teach naturally curious children through play-based learning-whilst belonging to a sustainable and organic environment with the support of the National Standards of the - Early Years Learning Framework.
Neptune’s Nippers is committed to providing quality indoor and outdoor safe and natural play spaces that facilitate, extend and enrich children’s learning, growth of independence, initiative, and achievement, whilst building self-esteem, trust, cooperation, and most important respect for self, others, and the environment.
Amazing skills
Koolanga is an inclusive, boutique Service that engages with families and children, irrespective of culture. Building and maintaining respectful relationships in providing an alternative option for childcare is paramount for us.
We recognise:
- Relationships are crucial to a sense of belonging.
Being, recognises the significance of the here and now in children’s lives. - Becoming, encourages children to have a voice, to participate fully and actively in society without discrimination or bias.
- The need for continued appreciation with nature, to be environmentally responsible and embed those practices for sustainability.
- Play based learning engages each child’s interests and natural sense of discovery through hands-on exploration of the world around them. They are the driver of their own learning journey.
- Koolanga acknowledges the diverse community in which we live and encourages families, educators and community members to be meaningfully and actively involved in our Service.
